New ways of retail: the new world

The retail market is an always changing, fast moving market, requiring its’ players to be adaptable and future-proof. Focusplaza is a food and DYI-retail member organisation. They select the most insightful developments and trends and organise inspiring events, informative workshops and study-trips abroad for their members.

FoodFocus Executives is an exclusive group of Focusplaza members, formed of CEO’s and Board Members of different retail-companies. During the year, FoodFocus Executives meet regularly discussing new developments and trends in the market on a more strategic level. Focusplaza asked Sound to present during one of their FoodFocus Executives Days, giving their members an insight on the quick changing technologies in the retail world.

“New ways of retail: the new world”

Sound was delighted to present during a FoodFocus Executives day, speaking about the future way of working in retail; “New ways of retail: the new world”. Our goal was to present relevant insights and inspire Focusplaza’s members. But also to create a sense of urgency regarding the impact of (new) technologies affecting the way of working in the retail market.

Artificial intelligence, robots, or the internet-of-things, are important technologies that have impacted, and will continue to impact, the food and retail-DIY market. Businesses need to be aware, and come prepared to adapt new strategies, or even new business models, to serve their customers optimally. How do retail businesses need to be organised to be future-proof? Is their business data-driven enough to understand and meet clients’ needs and wants? Can their business-strategy be adapted based on data-driven insights?

We presented our ‘New ways of retail; the new world’ eight times at Focusplaza over the past few years.
